]]> This 3 bedroom, 2-1/2 bath home was custom built on a subdivision lot in DeWitt. The 2,505 sq. ft. home was built with the homeowners living 750 miles away. We were able to design the one-of-a-kind floor plan to meet all of their needs, select all the products and finishes and completely build this home with them making only two brief trips to DeWitt. This beautiful home featured a sliding barn door going into the office/study, quartz countertops with two kitchen sinks, 11’ ceilings in the great room, hardwood floors throughout including the treads & risers on the stairs, and a large master bath with freestanding tub.

About this Remodel

This project started as a conversion of an existing screen porch into a four seasons room, one that the DeWitt homeowners asked for what could be described as a “Northern Michigan cabin feel.” We installed luxury vinyl plank flooring, cedar siding and reclaimed barn beams on the ceiling. Part way through the remodel the homeowners decided to run the same flooring into their kitchen and added the re-paint of the remaining first floor of their home.

About this Remodel

This project involved a remodel of almost an entire 2-story home. The DeWitt homeowners purchased this home, and prior to moving in they hired Tom Motz Homes to give it an update. All of the existing oak trim and oak built-ins were sanded, primed and painted. The carpet and laminate flooring was replaced with luxury vinyl plank flooring on the main floor and new carpet on the second floor. The kitchen got new Medallion cabinets and quartz countertops installed.  The old formal dining room was converted to an office with wainscoting installed on the walls. And the old oak staircase was replaced with a new stained poplar railing with metal balusters. Wallpaper removal, fresh paint and new light fixtures throughout rounded out this extensive project.

About this Remodel

This project in DeWitt involved a remodel of almost the entire first floor of the home. We converted the formal living room into an office, walk-in pantry, half bath and mudroom with built-in bench. The existing full bath on the main floor was removed, a wall removed and the space was added to the master closet that had a custom closet system installed. The kitchen and master baths were completely remodeled with new Medallion cabinets, quartz countertops and ceramic tile floor installed in both. The master bath also had the existing whirlpool tub removed and a large ceramic shower installed in its place.

The homeowners had previously built a Tom Motz Home in 2003 for their family after their kids graduated from the highly rated DeWitt schools—these now empty nesters gave us the ultimate compliment when they came back for another custom built home over a decade later. Custom details and finishes are throughout the inside and outside of this home. As guests make their way up the stamped concrete walk to the front porch, they’re greeted by the 8’ tall mahogany front door. Adjacent to the foyer is a magnificent study with stained glass doors and custom wainscoting. The main living area of the home has 10’ tall coffered ceilings, the great room has beautiful built-ins flanking a fireplace with a barn beam mantle, and the kitchen has gorgeous Amish made cherry cabinets. A huge composite deck with aluminum/cable railing and a stamped concrete patio make the backyard perfect for entertaining.
